Audi Sport

Welcome to the home of Audi Sport. Audi has a long history of success in motorsport, and today you can find that DNA in our Audi Sport models, including our ‘S’ and ‘S line’ models as well as the legendary RS range (view the difference between these badges in our feature article).

Around the world, New Zealand drivers are well-known for their love of Audi Sport. In fact, New Zealand is the number one market for Audi Sport sales and is known in the German factory as being “Audi Sport country”.

Born in motorsport, tested under the most extreme conditions and taken to series maturity. That is what the high-performance R/RS models from Audi Sport GmbH are all about, combining maximum prestige with everyday usability and unparalleled performance. This is true when a V10 engine is working under the hood and also when the incredible torque of an electric drive is available.

Audi Sport GmbH – formerly quattro GmbH – was established in 1983 as a fully-owned subsidiary of AUDI AG.

Below you’ll find highlights of models that, through premium engineering and agressive design, meet the strict requirements to showcase the Audi Sport monikers.

Performance Engines

Pictured is Audi’s V8 engine in the Audi RS Q8. In this model, the 4L TFSI engine produces 441 kW of power (600 hp) at 6,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 800 Nm (590 Lb-ft) between 2,200 and 4,500 rpm.

The result is a limited top speed of 250 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of 3.8 seconds.

As well as petrol and diesel engines, Audi has produced incredible performance with its electric drivetrains, such as that found in the Audi RS r-tron GT which delivers this full electric sportscar to 100 km/h in a mindblowing 3.3 seconds.

Legendary quattro All-wheel Drive

Audi has been driving quattro technology forward for 35 years. With more than eight million models produced with quattro technology, Audi is the most successful premium manufacturer of vehicles with permanent all-wheel drive worldwide. With the Audi lunar quattro perhaps soon also on the moon. With quattro, Audi has achieved a milestone in automotive history – no other manufacturer had a high-speed, lightweight four-wheel drive for large series to offer in 1980.

The quattro four-wheel drive is a cornerstone on which Audi stands. Now the brand strengthens it further – with new models and new technologies. The quattro in the electrified power train represents a completely new concept for the mobility of the future.
