Christ’s College 1st XV Rugby Team

One of New Zealand’s oldest schools, Christ’s College’s sports community has developed immensely over recent years. With an expansion of the sports department there is real scope and opportunity to push sport at College to new levels in many areas while maintaining our objective of non-specialised excellence.

Archibalds is the lead sponsor of the school’s 1st XV rugby team. Archibalds considers it an honour to align ourselves with a school which is inspiring and educating our future leaders.

Motorsport

Given the vehicles we sell, service, and provide parts for, it should come as no surprise that many of our customers are motorsport enthusiasts, not to mention many of our team members.

The Archibalds name has a long history of motorsport participation and support in New Zealand, and owner Bruce Miles himself regularly races for the Historic Touring Cars in his iconic BMW.

Archibalds Historic Touring Cars

The Historic Touring Cars NZ Association is a community of historic race car enthusiasts.  They showcase  genuine touring cars from New Zealand, Australia, Europe and Asia from 1970 through to 2000. These cars include International Group A, FIA 2 Litre Super Tourers, European Group 1 or 2 Saloon cars, British Touring Cars, Australian Group C,  New Zealand 2 Litre Schedule S Touring Cars.

These cars formed what would arguably be some of the most exciting racing of the 80s and 90s.

Car enthusiasts at their best; supporting the Historic Touring Cars was an easy decision for Archibalds.

Local Owners’ Clubs

While we’re the official representative of our brands across most of the South Island of New Zealand, we’re honoured to align ourselves with local vehicle owners in our community through support of drivers’ clubs, particularly those for the well established clubs of Jaguar and Land Rover.

Canterbury Land Rover Owners Club

Canterbury Land Rover Owners’ Club

The Canterbury Land Rover Owners’ Club (CLROC) boasts over 140 members with monthly meetings and regular outings, specialising in 4WD events.

The CLROC is special in that it joins other local 4WD clubs combine to form the 4WD Emergency Team, which is called upon occasionally by local authorities, police and hospitals for our help and expertise in floods, fires and extreme weather conditions.

The club publishes a monthly newsletter which is entertaining and informative, as well as including details on upcoming trips and social events.

Jaguar Owners Cloub

Jaguar Drivers’ Club

The Jaguar Drivers’ Club Inc. (Christchurch) was first incorporated in 1958 – the first club to be formed outside the UK.

With its 300+ members, there is great camaraderie within the club, with monthly dinners and outings.

The outings range from rallies to visits to places of interest, sometimes enjoying a picnic lunch together and other times a meal at a winery or café. There are also technical evenings, movie nights, and track events.

Every third year at Easter the club meets up with Jaguar enthusiasts from all over the country for the National Jaguar Drivers’ Rally, with the next being held in Christchurch in 2024.
