New Porsche Macan EV Teased in New Concept Images Ahead of World Reveal

It seems Porsche’s mission to create the sportiest model in the electric SUV segment is about to be realised with the Macan EV. The brand first announced they would launch an electric Macan in 2019, nearly 5 years later and around 3 million kilometers of testing, the fully electric Macan is poised for its release.

The name Macan is derived from the Indonesian word for tiger and combines suppleness, power, fascination, and dynamics – core characteristics of the Porsche new Macan EV. With close collaboration between designers and aerodynamics engineers, the Macan is fundamentally Porsche but very streamlined.

“The new Macan is also very clearly a Porsche and a Macan at first glance. We have fundamentally kept the proportions that define what a sports car in this segment embodies for Porsche. The design has been refined both inside and out – the new model has an even sportier and more dynamic vibe.” –Porsche Style vice president Michael Mauer.

These designs mark the pinnacle of Porsche’s teases, heightening our anticipation for the grand reveal of the highly-anticipated all-electric Macan. Scheduled for its grand unveiling in Singapore, catch the global premiere live from the Porsche Newsroom at 12:30 am on Friday, January 26, 2024 (NZT). You can watch the stream here.

Though the Macan EV will be Porsche’s debut fully electric SUV, they do have the Taycan EV and hybrid models available in the Porsche Cayenne hybrid and Porsche Panamera hybrid. We look forward to comparing specs across all models.

We eagerly await the arrival of the all-new Macan EV and will share all details as we receive them. Official pricing and specifications have not yet been released by Porsche, but we are currently accepting registrations of interest.
