Rangi Ruru 1st XI Hockey Team Launch with Archibalds Volvo
With an extremely successful 2021 season in the bag, Archibalds Volvo is excited to announce our continued support for the Rangi Ruru 1st XI hockey team going into the 2022 season. This year, General Manager Anthony Kearns handed over the keys to a brand new 2022 Volvo XC40 to Rangi Ruru Principal Sandra Hastie and Director of Sport Mandy Anderson. Met with enthusiastic smiles, we caught up with the team leadership to ask them about their season.
As far as winning goes, it doesn’t get much better for our 2021 Connetics Cup Champions. The Rangi Ruru 1st XI Hockey team put on an incredible final match against the Christchurch Girls High School team, with a final result of 2-1. An incredible show of skill and determination proved once again that this team was capable of taking home the trophy.
To celebrate our on-going partnership, we hosted the team and their families in our Volvo showroom, giving us a great chance to catch up with each other and announce the team captains for the 2022 season. Principal Sandra Hastie offered some great words of encouragement to the team and advice for those in their final years of school.
Head coach Aaron Ford also joined us on the night, presenting the girls with their player skirts for the 2022 season. This presentation was topped off by current Black Sticks player and ex-Rangi student, Kirsten Nation. Unfortunately, due to COVID isolation, she wasn’t able to join us, but wished the girls good luck and some great words of advice via video.
Archibalds Volvo is extremely excited to partner with Rangi Ruru for yet another season, and we can’t wait to watch as the season goes on. Good luck girls!
