Porsche 911 GT3 RS wins ‘Performance Car of the Year’ at the 2023 New Zealand Autocar of the Year awards
It brings us great honor and comes as no surprise that the Porsche 911 Gt3 RS has been announced as the 2023 New Zealand’s Auto-World Performance Car of the year. The renowned Autocar Car of the Year awards showcases the best-in-class vehicles that have been introduced to the market in the past 12 months.
A forever star for both its body and machine, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS boasts and delivers unbelievable performance of up to 465 Nm on the circuit, and the 386-kW will catapult you from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds, giving you no time to breathe until reaching top speed of 296 km/h. As said by NZ Auto Car themselves, “This thing is Le Mans ready”. Definitely one for the tracks, and to pull the crowd in at a cars and coffee meet, “Park it up and let the boys go snap happy”.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS – Performance Car of the Year
“The 911 is a performance icon, and so it was about time we recognised the car that has delivered so many memorable drives over the years. And the 911 GT3 RS is the epitome of performance, everything about it honed to achieve the absolute maximum from the package. As the look suggests, this is a hardcore machine. The 4.0-litre is angry at idle and, being naturally aspirated, needs to spin but it’s ever so willing and the sound and throttle response are both museum worthy.” – Autocar New Zealand
The Porsche Range
The Porsche attraction began over 75 years ago from a love of cars by Ferdinand Porsche. Quoted to have said “Design must be functional, and functionality must be translated into visual aesthetics”, the Porsche brand encompasses this in all that it creates for the world. The Porsche 911 has long been a favourite of the brand, first debuting in 1964 in Germany. Enthused by support, the Porsche 911 GT3 model was released in 1999, and later added the Porsche GT3 RS to the family.
Forever crafting a unique driving experience, Porshe manages to cater for each lifestyle, with the SUV styles of Cayenne and Macan, Sedan Panamera and Taycan, to the sporty racers of Carrera and Cayman. Each combines performance, luxury and comfort in its own distinctive, Porsche way.
911 Carrera Coupé
Embodying the Porsche DNA at its finest, the 911 Carrera Coupé features the classic long flat bonnet, the steeply inclined windscreen and roof line that slopes gently down towards the rear, which was characterised in the original 911. Ride sleekly around cities or create a fanfare on the open road.
Taycan
Dreams are the strongest motivation. With the Taycan, Porshe has carried the belief over into the realm of electromobility – and opened a new chapter: Porsche E-Performance.
Macan
The Porsche Macan is and remains the sports car of the compact SUVs. Instantly the Porsche DN is recognisable with the sloping roof: the “Flyline” which lends the Macan its characteristics sports car contours.
Cayenne
On and off-road performance falls under one of the many assets the Porsche Cayenne possesses, along with comfort, sportiness and enhanced chassis systems which increase performance on demanding terrain.
