A New Chapter Begins: Porsche Cayenne Electric Launch at Archibalds Porsche

On Thursday 20 August, Archibalds Porsche welcomed customers, Porsche enthusiasts and friends of the brand to our Christchurch showroom for the exclusive launch of the new Porsche Cayenne Electric.

It was an evening dedicated to discovering what comes next for Cayenne, bringing together Porsche design, performance and electric innovation in one highly anticipated new model.

An evening of Porsche

Guests were welcomed by Archibalds Porsche Sales Manager Andre Waller, who opened the evening and introduced two of the newest members of our Porsche team: Porsche Sales Executive Ashleigh Monaghan and Porsche Brand Ambassador & Service Consultant Anenicke Meyer.

With drinks and light bites, music and atmospheric lighting setting the scene, guests had the opportunity to reconnect with the Archibalds Porsche team and mingle with fellow Porsche customers and enthusiasts.

At the centre of the showroom, two Cayenne Electric models stood concealed beneath covers, building anticipation for the evening’s main reveal.

The covers come off

The moment arrived as the covers were pulled away, revealing the new Porsche Cayenne Electric for the first time.

Guests gathered around the vehicles to take in the details of Porsche’s latest interpretation of the Cayenne. From the exterior design to the interior technology, there was plenty to explore, with guests taking the opportunity to sit inside the vehicles and experience them up close.

The evening also provided an opportunity to hear directly from Porsche New Zealand. Chad Boering, Head of Training and People Excellence at Porsche New Zealand, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the new Cayenne Electric, covering its technology, performance and capabilities.

A lively Q&A followed, with guests asking questions and showing genuine interest in what the new electric Cayenne brings to the Porsche range.

Performance, electrified

The Cayenne Electric introduces a new dimension to the Cayenne family, combining the everyday versatility expected of the model with the performance and technology of Porsche’s latest electric powertrain.

Highlights include rapid DC charging, with a 10–80% charge possible in as little as 16 minutes¹, while Launch Control delivers impressive acceleration.

The Cayenne Turbo Electric can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, while the Cayenne Electric achieves the same sprint in 4.8 seconds. With Launch Control, the Cayenne Electric delivers up to 325 kW / 442 PS of overboost power.

For those who want to take the Cayenne beyond the road, an optional Off-road Package enables a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg.

A memorable first look

More than a vehicle launch, the evening was an opportunity for the Porsche community to come together. Customers and friends of Archibalds Porsche enjoyed the chance to meet the team, share conversations and experience the Cayenne Electric together for the first time.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Archibalds Porsche for this special evening. It was a privilege to share the next chapter of Cayenne with our customers and Porsche friends, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the showroom to discover more.
