Māia Health Foundation Feast Presented by Archibalds
Archibalds was extremely proud to present the Māia Health Foundation Feast – a fantastic evening with delicious local food, competitive bidding, entertaining performances, and an outstanding $300,000 raised!
The Māia Health Foundation Feast
Over 300 people filled the Te Pae Convention Centre on Saturday 3rd September for the annual Māia Health Feast, all joining together to take Canterbury’s local child and youth mental health services from good to great.
A wonderful evening was had by all with attendees being treated to a lovely kōrero by Mike McRoberts, violin performances by Yoomia, singing from indie-folk artist Mel Parsons, and delicious feast of seasonal spring treats sourced from local producers.
Throughout the night there was animated bidding for ten incredible auction items including a private whiskey tasting with Scott “Razor” Robinson, backyard cricket with Black Caps captain Tom Latham, and a piece of art from world-famous artist Max Gimblett.
This resulted in an extremely generous $300,000 raised to go towards the new Child, Adolescent and Family Outpatient Facilty. Guests were privileged to hear Te Maire Tau, the Upoko (head) of Nga Tūāhuriri gift the name of Kahurangi to this new facility, and watch a fly-through of the modern, fit-for-purpose treatment space. As naming partner for the event we extremely proud to support Māia Health and be a part of the fundraising efforts. The opportunity to partner with Māia is an easy choice to make, as it allows us to foster a long-term relationship with an organisation working on a cause close to our heart. The difference Māia makes is long-lasting and wide spread across not just Canterbury but New Zealand, and we are proud to play our part to support this incredible organisation. We want to thank everyone not only for their attendance but generosity on the night at the Feast.
“As a locally owned family business employing 80 people at Archibalds and over 500 across the Miles Group we firmly believe in the welfare of our people, their families and supporting the local community.
Mental health awareness and support is incredibly important to us and future generations so when we were approached to partner with Māia we did so without hesitation.
This partnership opportunity also ties in perfectly with Land Rover New Zealand and what they and we at Archibald’s have recently done by supporting Sir John Kirwan and his foundation which is educating mental health at our primary schools.”
– Anthony Kearns, Archibalds General Manager

Archibald’s other Mental Health Partnerships
Supporting organisations that shine a light on mental health in New Zealand is something we are very proud of. We also worked with Sir John Kirwan and his Mitey Drive, who provide mental health education in our primary schools. Archibalds together with Land Rover New Zealand recently raised $1,000,000 to go towards ensuring the future wellbeing of our children. Read more here.
