Christ’s College 1st XV Rugby Team Launch

We’re thrilled to announce our continued support for the Christ’s College 1st XV Rugby Team as they embark on their exciting journey in the 2023 season. Continuing our tradition of backing their pursuit of excellence, we are delighted to provide the team with the latest Range Rover Velar P400e plug-in hybrid, embodying our commitment to sustainability and a cleaner future.

The Velar is the perfect vehicle to use for this season, falling in line with our combined commitment to a more sustainable and carbon-neutral future. Equipped with a 2.0 L turbo engine, and around 60 km of fully electric range, the Velar will be the perfect town driver to support the team at all of their games this year. After receiving the keys, Archibalds Land Rover Manager, Corey Gray took some time to show Sam through the car, as well as some tips and tricks.

To celebrate the upcoming season and our continued partnership with Christ’s College, we once again hosted the team and their families at our Archibalds Land Rover showroom. It was an evening filled with laughter, delicious food, and heartfelt conversations. During the event, we took the opportunity to proudly introduce our newly appointed Archibalds Manager, Rowan Barbalich. With a strong background in property development within the Miles Group, Rowan’s expertise ensures our network of marques have top-notch facilities, allowing our staff to provide exceptional service throughout the vehicle ownership experience. His strategic approach to managing the group’s property portfolio will undoubtedly serve us well in the ever-evolving automotive industry.

Adding to the excitement, we are honoured to have Sam Broomhall join the Christ’s College rugby programme as the head coach of the 1st XV this season. Sam’s impressive rugby career includes representing Canterbury in 48 matches, making his debut for the Crusaders in 2001, and proudly donning the New Zealand jersey in four international matches. Following his playing days, he returned to Canterbury and ventured into the irrigation and pump industry alongside his brother.

While last year may not have yielded the desired results, the fire of determination still burns brightly within the team. The upcoming season is brimming with promise, as the players demonstrate their unwavering commitment and infectious enthusiasm for the sport.

At Archibalds Land Rover, we take immense pride in our partnership with Christ’s College and eagerly anticipate witnessing the team’s triumphs and growth throughout the season. Together, we stand firmly behind the Christ’s College 1st XV Rugby Team, offering unwavering support and embodying the spirit of camaraderie. We wish them the best of luck for their 2023 season.
