Jaguar Supports Lavie Tennis Academy at the New Zealand National Championships
The 2023 New Zealand Nationals unfolded in Christchurch this year at Wilding Park. The event showcased the top 32 players in the country across the 12, 14, 16, and 18-and-under age groups. The Lavie-branded Jaguar F-Pace garnered attention as the team utilised it to transport the young participants stylishly and safely to and from the tournament venue.
The Lavie Tennis Academy, supported by Jaguar for the past two years, was well-represented with 29 players participating throughout the event, many of whom competed in multiple age groups.
Among the standout performers were Una Misic, 13, and Liam Youn, 14, both of whom previously clinched the Jaguar Cup in January on the road to the ASB Classic. Una displayed exceptional skill by reaching the finals in the 14s and securing victories in the 16s in both singles and doubles—a remarkable accomplishment given her age. Liam, too, exhibited a strong performance, reaching the finals of the 14s and winning the doubles despite a tight 3-set loss in singles.
Adding to Team Lavie’s successes were the 12-and-under finalists, Jacques Rupe and Neve Upston, who battled fiercely for the title. In a closely contested match, Neve emerged victorious, edging Jacques 7-5, 7-5 for the win.
Next on the calendar for these players are international Junior events in January before they head to Southeast Asia to represent New Zealand in team events in April.
