Porsche Track Experience at Mt Cotton 2024
In May 2024, Archibalds Porsche had the pleasure of hosting some of our esteemed Porsche customers for an unforgettable four-day event in Brisbane. The centerpiece of this exciting journey was the Porsche Track Experience at Mount Cotton, a thrilling opportunity to push the limits of these extraordinary vehicles and master new driving skills. Beyond the adrenaline-fueled driving sessions, our guests were treated to a taste of Brisbane’s finest offerings, including exquisite dining, a luxurious yacht cruise, and accommodation in a five-star hotel. Join us as we recap this remarkable adventure that perfectly blended high performance and high living.
Porsche Precision Level 1
After flying in, checking in, and bonding over a drink or two the previous day, the real fun began with day one of the Porsche Driving Experience, Precision Level 1. With eight different Porsche models available to test, the day was designed to enhance drivers’ accuracy and teach the fundamentals of vehicle control. Held at the RACQ Mobility Centre of Excellence in Mount Cotton, this experience provided a safe environment to simulate and master hazardous situations one might encounter in everyday traffic at various speeds.
The training content included:
- Correct seating position, steering and vision control
- High speed ABS emergency braking and accident avoidance
- Introduction to the ideal line
- Load-changing scenarios
- Understeer and oversteer
- Slalom and handling section
- Efficient use of the Electronic Stability System
- Closed road circuit lapping
- Driving style assessment
- Passenger ride in Taycan GTS
- Cayenne off-road four-wheel drive experience (demonstration)
After a thrilling day on the track, guests had some time to unwind at their accommodation before heading to TAMA for a curated fine dining experience in a private dining suite. There, they enjoyed world-class cuisine and shared stories of their exhilarating day.
Porsche Precision Plus Level 2
Armed with the skillset acquired during Precision Level 1, day two promised even greater thrills as participants fine-tuned their new knowledge and mastered the nuances of driving a Porsche. From tackling corners at high speeds and finessing load changes, to pushing the Cayenne on the off-road four wheel drive track, Precision Plus Level 2 exceeded all expectations. The second day was a true testament to the power and versatility of Porsche vehicles, leaving no aspect of performance unexplored.
The training content included:
- Correct seating position, steering and vision control
- High speed emergency lane change and accident avoidance
- Basic principles of the ideal line
- Load-changing scenarios
- Four wheel skid and drifting on skid pan
- Slalom and handling section
- Efficient use of the Electronic Stability System
- Closed road circuit lapping
- Individual driving style assessment
- Off-road four-wheel drive experience
- Passenger ride in 911 GT3
Now that the hard work was complete, it was time for our guests to celebrate their accomplishments. To keep the adrenaline flowing, we hosted a private yacht party—a beautiful and unique way to experience Brisbane. The evening was nothing short of marvelous and served as the perfect conclusion to a successful trip.

The entire trip was a success, with each experience proving unique and thoroughly enjoyable. However, the true highlight was our incredible Porsche guests who came together, pushed themselves to new limits, and most importantly, had a blast doing so. Their camaraderie and enthusiasm added an extra layer of enjoyment to every activity, making this event not just memorable but truly extraordinary.

The Mt Cotton experience was easily the best driver training event I’ve ever attended. The facilities at the venue were superb and the food was exceptional. The cars were beautifully presented and a joy to drive. The training team did a fantastic job and I think we are all better drivers now, as a result of their guidance. Not only that, but we also have a much better understanding of what our cars are capable of. I was truly shocked at how hard a Macan could be driven even though I own one. The whole operation at Mt Cotton was so slick and well organised I just can’t think of any way in which it could be improved.
There was much more to the trip than the actual driving and for that we have to thank you for making it such an effortless experience. Our travel was well organised and, where it could be controlled, on time. Accommodation was excellent and a great location from which to explore Brisbane. The meal at Tama was lovely and the nautical adventure was a really interesting way to have a look at the city.
