The new Audi Q7: more space, more confidence, more of what matters

For more than two decades, the Audi Q7 has been the benchmark for the premium SUV. The latest generation builds on that reputation with a clear focus: space, comfort, technology, and effortless capability for real everyday life.

As Audi CEO Gernot Döllner puts it, the Q7 continues its mission as a true all-rounder, combining strong design with versatility and advanced technology.

For New Zealand drivers, that means one thing. A large SUV that genuinely fits into busy weeks, long road trips, school runs, and everything in between.

Space that adapts to your life

The new Q7 is available in New Zealand with seven seats as standard, making it one of the most practical premium SUVs in its class.

That flexibility is the real story here. You can carry the family, friends, or fold the seats flat for up to 1,980 litres of luggage space. Even with all seats in use, there is still 581 litres of boot space available behind the second row.

It is designed for real use, not just brochure numbers.

Inside, everything is adjustable and built for ease. All seats are electrically controlled, and storage has been improved throughout the cabin, including a redesigned centre console with wireless phone charging and larger cup holders.

A cabin built around comfort and light

Step inside and the Q7 focuses on one thing: making the cabin feel open and calm.

A large panoramic sunroof with switchable transparency brings in natural light during the day and creates a relaxed atmosphere at night. It is one of those features that immediately changes how the car feels on long drives.

Audi has also refined materials and layout to create a more premium, cohesive interior experience, with a strong focus on long-distance comfort.

Design and lighting that stands out

The new Q7 carries a more confident exterior design, with Audi’s signature Singleframe grille, a high shoulder line, and a strong road presence.

Lighting is a major highlight. Optional digital Matrix LED headlights and OLED rear lights introduce advanced lighting technology that adapts to conditions and enhances visibility.

At night, the Q7 becomes even more distinctive. Light signatures can be personalised, and new projection lighting welcomes you when the doors open, adding both practicality and theatre.

These systems also support safety, with lighting cues linked directly to driver assistance functions such as lane guidance and turn indicators projected onto the road.

Performance built for New Zealand roads

Under the bonnet, the Q7 is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine with MHEV plus technology. In simple terms, it is designed to deliver smooth response, strong torque, and better efficiency.

A powertrain generator can temporarily add up to 18 kW of extra output, helping with acceleration and responsiveness when you need it most.

Standard quattro all-wheel drive ensures confidence across changing conditions, from wet urban roads to long-distance touring. An eight-speed tiptronic transmission completes the setup for smooth, effortless driving.

Optional adaptive air suspension further enhances comfort and control, adjusting the ride depending on road conditions and driving style.

Smart technology that actually helps

Beyond performance and comfort, the Q7 includes a range of driver assistance features designed to reduce stress on longer journeys.

Adaptive driving assistance helps manage speed, distance, and lane keeping, while parking systems can even learn individual manoeuvres and repeat them automatically.

A new reverse assist function also helps when navigating tight or dead-end streets, taking some of the pressure out of everyday driving.
